What to Expect at Wills Chiropractic in Rochelle
For those new to chiropractic care, an adjustment might seem intimidating. Our gentle, effective, non-addictive and natural treatments remove subluxations (or interferences) in the central nervous system, which is your body’s communication system. When subluxations are present, you and your brain are unable to communicate effectively, which can create a number of negative health issues in the various systems of your body such as the digestive system and immune system. Without interferences, your body is able to function optimally, helping you to achieve true health.
Think about chiropractic like building a house. There are certain steps that need to be taken in a particular order if the house is to stand strong. When a house is being a built, you can’t put the walls up before you have a solid foundation or else they would be unstable and eventually collapse. You can’t put a roof on without sturdy walls, or you’ll face the same problem.
Similarly, your body requires a strong foundation and must go through a particular health plan to properly correct and heal itself. There are three phases of chiropractic care:
- Relief Chiropractic Care: When patients come to us in pain, our top priority is to help relieve that pain so they can find comfort and feel better. While some patients feel relief in as little as one visit, it can take 2-3 visits per week for 4-12 weeks to achieve lasting real pain relief.
- Corrective/Restorative Chiropractic Care: Muscles and tissues heal more completely during the corrective care phase, which prevents and reduces the risk of further injury. This phase typically requires 4-8 visits per month for 6-24 months depending on the severity of the issue.
- Wellness Chiropractic Care: Once your body has completely healed, periodic adjustments become an important part of your healthcare regimen to avoid problems in the future. Based on your lifestyle and goals, we hope to see you 1-4 times per month.
