The holiday season is a lot of fun, but it can also be exhausting! All the shopping, cooking, and party-hopping can you leave tired and run-down. Although chiropractic care is most commonly known for pain relief, it may also provide you with the energy boost you need this holiday season. Here’s what you need to know.
The spine, which is our primary focus as chiropractors, is part of the central nervous system (or CNS). The CNS is the body’s communication center; it sends and receives messages all over your body. When the health of the CNS isn’t great, the health of the body isn’t great which then saps any extra energy you may have. By improving the health of your central nervous system, you help your body to operate as efficiently as possible, thus freeing up some of that energy to use as you please.
Misalignments in the spine can lead to many negative symptoms. Though the most common side effect is pain, whether it be in the neck, back, or elsewhere, we often hear of other side effects, too. These commonly include joint pain, inflammation, headaches, inflexibility, difficulty concentrating, excessive fatigue, and more. When misalignments are corrected, you may find a number of these frustrating symptoms go away.
Many of our patients report back to us that regular adjustments just make them feel better. Greater range of motion and pain relief are no doubt two huge reasons why this occurs. But it may also be because a healthier central nervous system promotes a healthier body. The less pain you are in and the healthier your body is, the better you will feel and the more energy you will have. The added bonus of a little stress-relieving “me” time is a plus, too!
